Step one: check your current contract
Dig out your contract with your current provider to make sure the minimum term is over.
What is a minimum term? If you signed up for a 12-month contract, you need to stay with your current provider for at least one year after sign-up.
What happens if I cancel my broadband connection mid - contract? If you cancel before your minimum term is up, you might need to pay an exit fee.
How much is an exit fee? This varies from supplier to supplier, so Virgin Media may charge differently to BT. Sometimes it can be the outstanding months left on your contract, and in some cases, you need to pay for any equipment your provider has sent out.

Step two: arrange installation
Already on the CityFibre network? We can help you to switch remotely. No need to book an engineer visit. Otherwise, we'll arrange a date and time for someone to come out and get you sorted.
The UK's new One Touch Switch process, managed by Ofcom and officially launching in September 2024, means we'll manage the whole switching process on your behalf. You don't need to get in touch with your current provider. You just need to speak to us, tell us you want to switch, and we'll handle the rest.
