Drug and Alcohol Policy

FUTURE CONNECTED FIBRE LTD will ensure they provide an alcohol and drug-free work environment for our clients, employees, subcontractors and suppliers.

 

FUTURE CONNECTED FIBRE LTD explicitly prohibits:

The use, possession, or sale of illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription medication (without prescription from a doctor) on our premises or third party sites.

The presence of any detectable prohibited illegal drugs or alcohol in the employee’s or subcontractor’s system while at work, on our premises or third party sites, or while on company business. "Prohibited substances" include illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription drugs not taken in accordance with a prescription given to the employee or subcontractor by a doctor.

 

FUTURE CONNECTED FIBRE LTD will conduct drug and/or alcohol testing under the following circumstances:

 

RANDOM TESTING: Employees and subcontractors may be selected at random for drug and/or alcohol testing at any period.

 

WITH-CAUSE TESTING: Top Spec Civil Engineering Ltd may ask an employee or subcontractor to undertake a drug and/or alcohol test if there is suspicion that the individual may be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. This includes, but is not limited to the following circumstances: evidence of drugs or alcohol on or about the person or in their vicinity, unusual conduct that suggests impairment through alcohol, negative performance patterns, smell of alcohol, dilated pupils or excessive and unexplained absenteeism or tardiness.

 

POST-ACCIDENT/INCIDENT TESTING: Any employee or subcontractor involved in accident or incident that causes or potentially causes injury, loss of life or damage to property/assets, may be required to undergo a drugs and alcohol test.

 

If an employee or subcontractor refuses a request to submit to testing under this policy, individual may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, up to and possibly including discharge from employment or engagement. In such a case, the employee or subcontractor will be given an opportunity to explain the circumstances prior to any final action becoming effective.
